Review: Crazy Eggz!

Of all the games I’ve played, there’s never been one that required me to hide eggs about my person in an attempt to claim egg-concealment supremacy over my fellow players. It’s something that I’ve moaned about for years. Luckily there is now a game that can let me show off my egg-stowing skills and it’s called Crazy Eggz!

Crazy Eggz is a game for 2-4 humans that pits them against each other in a race to perform physical actions and grab as many eggs as their armpits and elbow crannies can hold.

The game comes with a box filled to bursting with colourful eggs and a couple of dice. Players place an egg in the centre of the table (a stand is provided for optimal egg presentation) and then roll the ‘action’ dice. This decides what players need to do to win the current egg. It could be putting your fingers on your lips, it could be clucking like a rooster or just grabbing the egg as quickly as possible.

The first player to successfully complete the action secures the egg! But now they must roll the other dice to see where the egg is to be secreted for the rest of the game. Some seem rather easy like under your arm. It soon becomes clear after picking up even more eggs that you can easily forget one and let it tumble out.

There is also a mystical blue egg (the rest being orange). Daring players can select the blue egg but, be warned, it is heavier and harder to manage than the others.

Dropping an egg results in it being returned to the box. You must deal with this loss gracefully and continue on with the game. When a player reaches five eggs then they must do the dance of victory whilst still retaining all the eggs to be crowned the true victor! If you lose an egg whilst celebrating then you’re back in and the game continues until the dance is completed by a player with a full compliment of eggs crammed under chins and between knees.

Crazy Eggz is a great family game as it has really simple rules and gets everyone out of their chair. Play gets really fun as everyone begins to accrue a collection of eggs as it becomes harder and harder to be the quickest when you’re chock-full of eggs!

We definitely had a great time playing Crazy Eggz and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to add an active party game to their collection or just something fun and casual that doesn’t take too long to set up.  The game also comes in a snazzy little egg box so it’s easily transported if you want to throw it in a bag and take it to a friend’s house.
